Surgical Services
All Bay Animal Hospital offers a variety of surgical options, from spaying and neutering to advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. Our modern surgery suites are equipped with many of the modern monitoring devices used in human medicine including Pulse Oximetry, ECG, and Blood pressure monitors. Circulating warm water blankets and patient positioning devices help keep your pet warm and comfortable under anesthesia. A veterinary technician is always present and constantly reports all these readings to the surgeon throughout the procedure, assuring you that your pet's surgery and anesthesia will meet the highest standards. Our hospital is equipped with a range of inhalation and injectable anesthetics and we tailor our anesthetic protocols to meet the individual needs of each patient. The decision to use a particular anesthetic (i.e. a light or heavy sedative, a local, or a general anesthetic) is based on the depth of anesthesia that is necessary, the age and health status of the pet, and the amount of pain relief required. We may recommend that your pet have blood work prior to an anesthetic particularly if they are older, or if there are any health concerns. We welcome your questions about our anesthetic protocols.
